Toshiba M200 Tablet PC
A few months ago I purchased a laptop. This wasn’t your ordinary laptop though. It was a Tablet PC as well. Tablets are portable lcd computers that you write on with a digital pen. Mine happens to be what is called a “convertible” because it is a laptop that converts into a “slate.” When in normal laptop mode you can flip the screen around down flat on the keyboard into what is called slate mode. I can then carry it around and write on it. Think of it as a really expensive clipboard!
I like small and sleek computers. When I looked around at what was out there I could not find a better 12” tablet. It is even a generation old but it still won out due to the size and higher resolution of 1400 x 1050 pixels. People who know me know that I’ve gotta have my high resolution. The only other thing that was better on paper were a couple smaller 9” convertible tablets. I would have gone with one of those but at the time Toshiba was offering a 12 months same as cash financing deal on their website. So in the end I had to go with that deal.
My M200 weighs about 4.5 pounds. I find it to be a little bit to heavy to walk around with for more than a few minutes. It is perfectly fine for when you are sitting down though. The writing is a lot better than I thought it would be. For the life of me I cannot write my name legibly on those digital credit card scanners in stores. To my surprise my tablet feels a lot like writing on paper. I can even write legibly on it. Check out the proof…
I am really happy with my tablet purchase. I am on the computer a lot more now because of it. I take it almost everywhere I go too. Yeah, even there! My next computer advancement is going to be much sweeter though. I’m going to leave laptops in my past and upgrade to a handtop! This will be so awesome. A full Windows computer, about the size of a pda, always with me in my pocket. This will increase my productivity a lot and be awesome for those times when I’m out and need a computer which is constantly. This will be great for business too. I can get data, make calculations, communicate, record conversations, email, sign contracts, manage e-businesses, etc, at any time. I think at some point most people will carry handtops. There are a few out right now. Check them out!
